What this site does, and doesn't
This is one page and its legal notices. It runs no analytics, no advertising pixels and no embedded content from other companies. The fonts are served from this site. The store numbers on the page are sample data.
The module list and the command line work only inside your browser. Nothing you tick or type is sent to me or stored. "Copy list" writes to your clipboard only when you press it.
Hosting and delivery: Cloudflare
The site is delivered by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you open it, Cloudflare processes technical connection data (your IP address, the date and time, the page requested, and browser and device information) to deliver the page and protect it from attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR: my legitimate interest in a website that works and is secure. I keep no access logs of my own.
Cloudflare has certified its compliance with the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which covers transfers of this data to the United States (Art. 45 GDPR). Cloudflare's privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
Cookies
This site sets no cookies of its own. When Cloudflare's bot protection is active, Cloudflare can set strictly necessary security cookies (for example __cf_bm, which expires after 30 minutes of inactivity). These are allowed without consent under § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG because the service cannot be delivered securely without them.
When you contact me
If you email or call me, I use your details to answer you. If it is about a job, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR; otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. I keep the messages as long as needed for the conversation and any job that follows, and longer only where tax or commercial law requires it.
Upwork
"Hire me on Upwork" opens my profile on upwork.com. From there, Upwork's own privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your data (Art. 15 GDPR), correction (Art. 16), deletion (Art. 17), restriction (Art. 18) and a copy in a portable format (Art. 20), and you can object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21). You can also complain to a data protection authority (Art. 77), for example the one responsible for me: Der Hessische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Wiesbaden.
